Micro loans:

An important part of our work is to help Christians to rebuild their lives after facing terror or internal displacement. We want to help individual Christians to help themselves, by offering ‘’Micro loans’’ or ‘’Micro credits’’ to help start local businesses that will provide income.  In order to do this, SALT Foundation establishes and partners with local committees.

Micro-loans have helped to buy bee-hives for honey production, to support meagre incomes.

We provide micro loans to people that are in poorest conditions, especially Christians that had to flee from Baghdad and Mosul. The mechanism of this loan is that individuals can send a proposal explaining what they want to do as a small work or project to create a source of income for them self and their family. They should present a plan, business details and the financial needs.

The committee, in turn, will review the proposal. Once it has been approved and the project is being funded, the committee monitors the project and the accountability process begins.
